Iwobi became only the fifth player in Premier League history to make at least 100 appearances for three different clubs.

The 30-year-old reached the landmark after starting for Fulham against Palace, taking his appearances for the club to 100. He previously made 100 appearances for Arsenal and 123 for Everton.

Iwobi now joins Gareth Barry, Rory Delap, Gary Speed and James Milner in the exclusive group.

However, the milestone was overshadowed by another disappointing result for Fulham, who have now lost their opening three league matches under new manager Alvaro Arbeloa.

Josh King put Fulham ahead in the 11th minute before Tyrick Mitchell equalised for Palace in the 35th minute.

Cesar Palacios restored Fulham’s lead shortly before half-time, but Mitchell struck again in the 54th minute to make it 2-2.

Former Chelsea defender Ben Chilwell completed Palace’s comeback in the 77th minute, condemning Fulham to another defeat.

Iwobi was substituted with seven minutes remaining, while fellow Nigeria international Calvin Bassey played the full 90 minutes.

Fulham are 19th on the table after three games.

Haaland keeps City perfect

Erling Haaland’s first-half header was enough to give Manchester City a 1-0 victory over newly promoted Coventry City at the Etihad Stadium.

Haaland struck in the 26th minute to score his third goal of the season and help City maintain their perfect start to the campaign with three wins from three matches.

The result keeps City top of the table on nine points.

Nigeria internationals Taiwo Awoniyi and Frank Onyeka both started for Coventry. Onyeka was substituted in the 63rd minute, while Awoniyi was withdrawn eight minutes after the hour mark.

The defeat leaves Coventry bottom of the table after losing their first three matches since returning to the Premier League.

Aina’s Forest held by Spurs

Nottingham Forest, with Nigeria international Ola Aina in action, were held to a goalless draw by Tottenham Hotspur at the City Ground.

The point was Tottenham’s first of the season, although the London club are still searching for their first league goal.

Forest thought they had taken the lead through Neco Williams, but VAR ruled out the goal for handball.

Newcastle rescue point

Newcastle United produced a late comeback to draw 2-2 with Bournemouth at St James’ Park.

Bournemouth established a two-goal lead through Marcus Tavernier and an own goal from Malick Thiaw before Harvey Barnes pulled one back.

Jacob Ramsey then completed Newcastle’s comeback with an 88th-minute equaliser.

Elsewhere, Brighton and Leeds United played out a 1-1 draw, while Brentford and Sunderland also shared the points after a 1-1 result.

Palace’s victory at Fulham was their first of the campaign, while Leeds missed the chance to make it three wins from three.

Defending champions Arsenal face Chelsea on Sunday, with Manchester City holding a three-point lead at the top of the table.
