Tanzania Women’s Bank Limited (TWB) has forged business links with Tanzanians in the Diaspora who want to contribute to social and economic development.

The Bank’s Managing Director, Mrs Margareth Chacha, said in an interview recently that Tanzanian women in the US invited the bank’s management for explatinations on opportunities and services. “I met them in Chicago and we had a fruitful meeting.
The bank assured them of better and competitive services,’ Ms Chacha said. She said a group of women from Tanzania living in Washington, Virginia and Maryland also wanted know whether the TWB policies favoured women empowerment.
“They also wanted find out how Diaspora women can benefit from investing with the bank and opportunities TWB offers to women in the diaspora,” Ms Chacha said.
She said many Tanzanians living in the US and Europe failed to support the country’s development for fear of loss or misuse of their funds.
“We discussed with them how the bank will facilitate transfer of their funds and maintain their accounts,” she said.According to the bank’s chief, Tanzanian women in the diaspora said they sometimes fail even buy goods from home for fear of high costs and risks for sending someone with cash.
“Linking with TWB they can now send their money and the bank will facilitate the purchase of goods they want,” she explained.
She said the bank has opened the online networks to enable them (Tanzanian in Diasporas) to do transactions while there without their physical presence.
