:Two men aged 24 and 21 from two different African countries were arrested Tuesday night while attempting to travel through the Larnaca airport to another European destination with stolen documents.

Police said that the two men arrived separately at Larnaca airport to depart on the same flight to another European country.

The 24-year-old who is from the Congo, was arrested after officers at passport control realised that he had no resemblance to the photo on his documents. He later admitted that the passport was not his and that he arrived on the island through the north. Following investigations police found out that the passport was reported stolen in another European country.

The 21-year-old man, who is from Cameroon, was also arrested at passport control as the details on his passport did not match. He too admitted that the passport was not his and that he entered the government controlled areas from the north. The passport he presented was also reported stolen in another European country police said.
